The book synthesizes some of the research that has been done on trafficking, particularly for purposes of sexual exploitation. It provides definitions, examines causes and impacts of trafficking worldwide and reviews recent efforts and initiatives by the international community, national authorities, the civil society and the private sector in the fight against human trafficking.
